Ian Morgan

As Principal of Next Architecture, Ian has gained a wide range of experience as architect in the Commercial, Cultural and Retail Sectors. Being a member of the City of Edmonton Historic Resources Review Panel allows him to apply his expertise in the field of Conservation Management and Heritage Resource Planning.
Ian provides unique solutions that focus on the requirements of the end user for every project. He is also an experienced contract administrator and project manager. Ian particularly enjoys working with diverse client groups to analyze and rationalize their ideas into a clear set of aims and objectives that are translated into successful completed projects.
An advocate of creating high performing building envelopes that address climate and orientation, Ian has the technical skills required to solve complex issues early in the design process. Architecturally, he is concerned with environmental and energy conscious design, urban planning and the context into which buildings and urban spaces interact. Ian’s designs are driven by a holistic approach that considers form, function, materials and methods of construction. Current initiatives are focusing on the implementation of BIM enabled technologies, enhanced collaboration and off-site fabrication.
